Ultrasound

Getting an early glimps of your baby is exciting and fun. However, the reason for this test is to evaluate your baby's growth and development, and determine how your pregnancy is progressing.

From seeing that the embrio is implanted properly, to studing the anatomy of the baby, by making sure all the organs are formed, the ultrasound will allow the healthcare provider to see the four chambers of the heart, the lungs and  the extremities, and even the fingers and toes. The placenta and amniotic fluid present will also be evaluated.

Very important is the confirmation of the age of the fetus, to have an accurate estimated date of delivery.
